Dr. Garzo to speak at Infertility and Pregnancy Loss Seminar

On Saturday, September 25, 2010 Dr. Garzo will be speaking on the topic of Assisted Reproductive Technology: Review of the Medical Science at the Infertility and Pregnancy Loss: Getting Your Patients the Emotional Help They Need seminar.  Presented by The UC San Diego Maternal Mental Health Clinic in association with The Center for Reproductive Psychology, this seminar will provide information on the psychological impact of infertility and assisted reproductive technology (ART).

23rd Annual In Vitro Fertilization and Embryo Transfer

Dr. Garzo will be speaking at the 23rd Annual In Vitro Fertilization and Embryo Transfer course presented by the Office of Continuing Medical Education, David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.

Dr. Garzo will be speaking on Gestational Surrogacy, Luteal Phase Support and Transfer Technique.

This program brings together a renowned faculty to present the latest developments in every phase of in vitro fertilization and embryo management. The course addresses the needs of practicing scientists, gynecologists, reproductive endocrinologists, residents, and fellows who wish to review the specialty and update their knowledge in this rapidly changing and expanding field.

Dr. Garzo to Speak at Upcoming Health Law Workshop

On Saturday, March 20, 2010, Dr. Garzo will be speaking on the topic of "The Law, Medicine, and Ethics of ART and Surrogacy," as part of a health law workshop conducted by the UCSD School of Medicine and California Western School of Law.

The two schools offer a joint Health Law Master's degree, which equips students to work at the intersection between the legal and medical/health care fields. Dr. Agarwal Responds to California Octuplets Case

The circumstances surrounding the births of the Suleman octuplets and their mother Nadya Suleman, also known as Octomom, has led to controversy in the field of assisted reproductive technology. In this interview by NBC 7 News, Dr. Agarwal discusses the ethical standards surrounding this case, how he would have advised this mother and why he believes her fertility doctor was in violation of industry ethics according to guidelines developed by the American Society of Reproductive Medicine.
